The HST Double Cut - DylanTalksTone x Texas Toast Guitars PRE ORDER
The HST
DylanTalksTone x Texas Toast Guitars
A modern evolution of my favorite guitar ever — the Les Paul Double Cut Junior — built by hand in Colorado.
The HST exists because this guitar didn’t.
I wanted the feel, balance, and immediacy of a double cut Junior… but with the flexibility, refinement, and reliability that modern players actually need. So we built it.
THIS IS A PREORDER - Build Time Is Approximately 12-16 Weeks (maybe faster)
Why the HST Exists
My all-time favorite guitar is a Les Paul Double Cut Junior.
It’s raw, direct, and inspiring — but it’s also limited.
The HST is what happens when you keep everything that makes a Junior special and evolve it without losing the soul:
-
Two pickups instead of one
-
Thoughtful electronics
-
Premium materials
-
Built by real builders, not a factory
This isn’t a vintage reissue.
It’s a player’s guitar, designed to disappear in your hands and show up in the mix.
Built by Texas Toast Guitars – Colorado, USA
The HST is hand-built in Colorado by Matt and Chris at Texas Toast Guitars.
This isn’t a branding exercise — it’s a real collaboration:
-
Designs refined through prototypes
-
Decisions made at the bench, not in a boardroom
-
Built the way guitars used to be built — one at a time
If you know Texas Toast, you already understand the level of care here.
Tone & Feel
The HST balances warmth, clarity, and attack in a way that works across genres:
-
Honduran mahogany body & neck for midrange punch and sustain
-
Flamed maple top adds articulation and snap without getting harsh
-
24.75" scale keeps the feel familiar and expressive
-
Perfect balance whether standing or sitting
It feels broken-in the first time you play it — not stiff, not overbuilt, just right.
Pickups — Built Your Way
You choose the voice.
Each HST is loaded with your choice of DylanTalksTone pickups:
-
Any DTT humbucker
-
Enduro humbuckers
-
Humbucker-sized P90s
No upcharge.
No “standard vs upgrade” nonsense.
Because the right pickup is the one you actually want to play.
